Mr. Haider A. Farman elected to the position of the President of the International Kurash Association

November 4, 2015:The International Kurash Association held its XVth Ordinary Congress in the Khorramabad city, Iran. The Congress members coming from different countries of the world discussed several important matters related to the Kurash promotion and development in continental unions and the world. 

In the beginning of the meeting the Governor of the Loristan province of Iran Mr. Hoshangh Bazvand addressed a welcoming speech to the Congress members. Then the two newly established national Kurash federations in Italy and Monaco were granted the full membership in the IKA. 

The Congress members also ratified the changes and amendments to the Statutes of the International Kurash Association aimed at improving the functionality and effectiveness of the Directing Committee. The Continental Union Presidents presented their reports on activities made in the year 2015 in their respective continents and plans for 2016.
The main item in the Agenda of the Congress meeting was the elections of the IKA President and Directing Committee members for new four-year terms. The Congress members unanimously elected to the position of the IKA President Mr. Haider A. Farman, the Director of the Asian Games Department of the Olympic Council of Asia representing Kuwait. 

Following persons were elected to the other posts in the IKA’s Directing Committee: IKA First Vice-President – Mr. Jagdish Tytler (India); IKA Chairman – Mr. Murodjon Aliev (First deputy minister of culture and sport of Uzbekistan); IKA Director on peace through sport – Mr. Yusuf Yildirim (Turkey); IKA Vice-President on general matters – Mr. Razaman Pulatov (Uzbekistan); IKA Technical Director – Mr. Reza Nassiri (Iran); IKA Director on equality in sport – Mrs. Olha Machuhina (Ukraine); IKA General Secretary – Mr. Umid Yakubov (Uzbekistan).

The IKA Congress members also approved the chairpersons of the IKA Standing Committees: Sports committee (Mr. El Jamali El Arabi, Morocco); Refereeing committee (Mr. Kim Eur Joong, Korea); Ethics and disciplinary committee (Mr. Ziyoviddin Khodjiniyazov, Uzbekistan); International relations committee (Mr. Michael Bigoszewski, Poland); Legal committee (Mr. Vittorio Giorgi, Italy); Athletes Committee (Mr. Paul Sawyer, Great Britain); Education committee (Mr. Yafali Milambo, Democratic Republic of Congo); Women in sport Committee (Mrs. Dona Saade, Lebanon); Protocol committee (Mr. Mohles Al Iraqi, Iraq); Marketing committee (Abdul Aziz Abdul Karim, India). Positions of press and PR, medical and finance committees remain vacant and will be filled in due time.

The Congress members were also briefed by the IKA President Mr. Farman about the recent inclusion of Kurash to the program of the Asian Summer Games 2018 in Indonesia, the Games which are widely accepted as the second biggest milti sport event in the world after the Summer Olympics. Kurash will also feature in the official competition programs of the Asian Beach Games 2016 in Vietnam and Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2017 in Turkmenistan.

The Kurash Association of India presented the progress report on the World Junior (U20) Kurash championships and the IKA’s XVI Ordinary Congress which will be held in November 2016 in the Indian resort city of Kochi.

EL KURASH LLEGA A LOS ALCARRIZOS


Los Alcarrizos, Santo Domingo Oeste.- El Kurash continua con su expansión hasta lo núcleos populares urbanos como parte de la programación de la entidad rectora de esta disciplina en el presente 2015.
Anteriormente le toco a diferentes provincias contándose entre ellas Azua, Bani, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo Oeste, Distrito Nacional, San Pedro de Macoris, Monte Plata y Hermanas Mirabal, entre otras.
Ahora este popular distrito municipal con mas de 260 mil habitantes, Los Alcarrizos, recibió la práctica del Kurash de mano de los profesores Marcos Reyes Torres y Luciano Luna Veloz en la Escuela de Artes de esta jurisdicción en la Calle Principal del Barrio Juana Saltitopa.

 El profesor Marcos Reyes Torres hace la explicacion de una tecnica de Kurash a los participantes de la practica en Los Alcarrizos

“Luego de la realización de Octubre 2015 como el mes del Kurash esta disciplina y arte marcial que tiene mas de 3500 años de practica, podemos decir que logro un importante objetivo de difusión pues los jóvenes de aquí quedaron gratamente impresionados y por eso hoy estamos iniciando la practica del Kurash en este jurisdicción”, dijo Marcos Reyes al dar apertura al programa de practicas en esta escuela.

Diferentes tecnicas de Kurash fueron instruidas a los alumnos practicantes del Kurash de Los Alcarrizos por los profesores Marcos Reyes Torres y Luciano Luna Veloz

En la apertura pudo notarse la presencia de niños y jóvenes de ambos sexos los que dijeron sentirse sumamente satisfechos por la enseñanza técnica de los profesores  quienes dedicaron parte del horario a hablar de la historia del Kurash, sus valores éticos y morales como parte vital en la formación integral de la juventud.

En la actividad estuvo presente el ingeniero Jaime Casanova Martinez en representación de la Federacion Dominicana de Kurash, Fedokurash, quien es el director ejecutivo de la Unión Panamericana de Kurash (Fedokurash), asi mismo, el profesor Fausto Peña directivo de la Federación Dominicana de Jiu Jitsu.

UZBEKISTAN GANA LOS X CAMPEONATOS MUNDIALES DE KURASH MASCULINOS

Khorramabad, República Islámica de Iran.- Al finalizar los X Campeonatos Mundiales de Kurash, esta vez en la rama masculina, Uzbekistan se alzo con el primer lugar de la justa al acaparar cinco medallas de oro, igual cantidad de plata y dos de bronce.
La segunda posición correspondió a la delegación irani con tres de oro, dos de plata y siete de bronce en el certamen que reunió peleadores de diferentes países y continentes y que ademas se celebro el Congreso Mundial donde se eligió al kuwaiti Haider Farman como presidente par los próximos cuatro años.
Los koreanos obtuvieron el tercer lugar con una medalla de plata en solitario seguido por Turkmenistan con tres preseas de bronce y la cuarta posición.
La importante quinta posición fue para Ukrania con dos medallas de bronce y el sexto lugar fue compartido por Rumanía, Moldavia y Georgia, todos, con una presea de bronce.
El importante certamen atlético se realizo los días 5 y 6 de noviembre 2015 en esta ciudad irani.

Players in men weight categories under 81, 90, 100 and over 100 kg will compete for the title of the World champion at the Takhti Sport Complex in the center of the Khorramabad city. On 6 November the World championships will be concluded with competitions in under 60, 66, 73 kg, and open weight categories.
