IKA introduces new Beach Kurash Rules

dcist2013 - CopyThe International Kurash Association announces the introduction of the new version of the Rules for Beach Kurash.
The first version of the Beach Kurash Rules was approved by the IKA Congress held in Istanbul, Turkey in 2013.
According to the 2013 version of the Beach Kurash Rules, in Beach Kurash referees could operate with two scores (Khalol and Yonbosh) and two penalties (Girrom and Dakki). Moreover, the duration of the bouts in Beach Kurash was cut by one minute in comparison with Main Kurash.
During the last two years, the Technical Committee of the IKA conducted a number of test events using the 2013 version of the Beach Kurash Rules. As a result of this testing, it was decided to recommend the introduction of the scoring and timing scheme of Main Kurash to Beach Kurash as well. The IKA Directing Committee approved these recommendations.
The new version of the Beach Kurash Rules is available for download at the link given below. These new Rules are effective starting from 20 July 2016 and mandatory for use at all Beach Kurash competitions of national and international level held by all national Kurash federations and continental Kurash unions.
The ratification of the new Beach Kurash Rules shall be done by the IKA Congress, which is scheduled to be held on 11 November 2016 in Kochi, India
