Kurash competitions at «Children of Asia» International Games / Kurash y las competiciones del los Juegos de los Niños de Asia

Today the official Kurash competitions started at the 6th “Children of Asia” International Sport Games in Yakutsk, the Russian Federation.

These international Games were first held in 1996 in Yakutsk, and since then are organized every four years in this northern city of the Russian Federation by the Russian NOC, Russian Sport Ministry and the Government of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic.

The Games enjoy the high patronage of the International Olympic Committee, the UNESCO and the Olympic Council of Asia. 15-16 years old boys and girls from various Asian and European countries can compete at these Games.

This year’s edition of the Games was the first one in history that featured the official Kurash competition in its program. There are about 20 other Olympic and non-Olympic sports in the official competition program of these Games.

The Kurash competitions are held at the “Triumph” sport complex in Yakutsk. There are five weight categories in the Kurash program at these Games: under 45, 55, 65, 75 and over 75 kg.

On 14 July players competed in three weight categories: under 45, 65 an 75 kg. On 15 July the program of the Kurash competitions in the Games will be concluded with bouts in the weight categories under 55 and over 75 kg.
