Asian Indoor Games open in style


THE fourth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) got underway yesterday with a colourful opening ceremony, featuring athletes from 43 member nations of the Olympic Council of Asia.
South Korean prime minister Jung Hong-Won announced the official opening of the eight-day Games, which will be running until July 7 with "Diversity Shines Here" as the slogan.
Host favourite pool player Cha Yu-Ram, who won gold for nine-ball singles in the 2009 Asian Indoor Games and also the Goodwill Amabassdor of the 2013 AIMAG, lit up the torch.
Bahrain's parade consists of 20 members, who received big applause as they entered the Incheon Samsan World Gymnasium.
This is the first time the originally separate Indoor Sports Games and Martial Arts Games are held as one event. The Asian Indoor Games were first held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2005, then in Macau, China in 2007 and in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2009. Meanwhile, the first Asian Martial Arts Games were held in Bangkok.
The Games feature 100 events in 12 sports which are billiard, bowling, chess, baduk (go), e-sports, dance sport, futsal, indoor kabaddi, kickboxing, muay, kurash and short course swimming 25meters.
China topped the medal tables in the last three editions of the Asian Indoor Games.
Host South Korea has the largest delegation of 121 athletes. The hosts look forward to win medals in billiard, bowling, baduk(go), e-sports, futsal and short course swimming. The next AIMAG will be held in Ashkhabad, Turkmenistan in 2017.
Bahrain, meanwhile, will be looking to have a solid start today as they kick start their campaign in the eight-day event, which marks their third appearance in the history of the Games.
Bahrain's delegation, being headed by Bahrain Olympic Committee sports Affairs executive director Noaman Al Hassan, is set to compete in billiards, bowling and swimming events from 4am (Bahrain time) onwards.
The bowling team will be the first in action today at 3am (Bahrain time), with the eight-member men-women's squad competing in the singles event.
Masood Saberi, Ahmed Al Goud, Isa Abduljabbar and Taha Ebrahim are all taking part in the men's section, whileFatema Khalid, Noora Al Janahi, Majda Taher and Layla Janahi will be competing in the women's division.
The billiards events also begin today at 4am with the Nine-Ball Singles event. Bahrain sent eight cueists for the Games, with the men's squad featuring Ali Hassan, Saleh Ahmed, Ali Mohammed and Abdulla Isa, while Jumeya Al Doseri, Nahla Al Sunni, Fatma Yousuf and May Al Doseri are in the women's section.
Bahrain's swimmers Farhan Saleh Faraj and Sameera Al Bitar will also be in action today at the Dowon Swimming Pool from 3am, as Faraj is lined up with 31 other entrants in the men's 50m freestyle heat, while Sameera Al Bitar will be among 32 swimmers in the women's 50m and 100m freestyle heats.

KURASH EN LOS IV JUEGOS ASIATICOS DE SALON Y LAS ARTES MARCIALES

Cuartos Juegos de Asia en Incheon

24 de junio, Incheon, Korea.- Los cuartos Juegos Asiaticos de Salon y de Artes Marciales se llevaran a cabo durante ocho dias en esta ciudad del 29 de junio al 6 de julio 2013 con nueve deportes.
Los cuartos AIMAG será un evento de prueba de alto perfil para los Juegos Asiáticos en su version numero 17 en Incheon el año proximo.
Los cuartos AIMAG serán los primeros Juegos OCA para combinar los Juegos Asiaticos y de las Artes Marciales.
Habrá nueve sedes de competición, siete existentes y dos nuevos lugares para la natación y el fútbol sala. Las ceremonias de apertura y cierre de serán en el Samsan Mundial Gymnasium y las Villas de los Atletas se encuentran en salas universitarias locales de residencia.
El contrato de ciudad anfitriona se firmó el 21 de enero de 2011. La ceremonia de apertura se llevará a cabo el 29 de junio de 2013 y el cierre el 6 de julio de 2013.

Se espera que los cuarenta y cinco participen en 100 eventos de nueve deportes y 12 disciplinas. Los deportes / disciplinas son:

4th Asian Indoor Games in Incheon
24th July, Incheon: The 4th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will be held over eight days in Incheon, Korea, from June 29 to July 6, 2013. Featuring nine sports, the 4th AIMAG will be a high-profile test event for the 17th Asian Games in Incheon the following year.

The 4th AIMAG will be the first OCA Games to combine the Asian Indoor Games and the Asian Martial Arts Games.
There will be nine competition venues, seven existing, two new venues for swimming and futsal. Opening and Closing Ceremony venues will be the Samsan World Gymnasium. The athletes' village is located at local university halls of residence.
The host city contract was signed on January 21, 2011. The opening ceremony will be held on 29 June, 2013 and closing on 6 July 2013.

Forty-five countries are expected to participate in 100 events of nine sports in 12 disciplines. The sports/disciplines are:

IV Arab Championships Kurash results
The capital of Lebanon Beirut city successfully hosted the 4th Arab Kurash Senior Championship. 

The championship was organized and held by the Arab Kurash Union which unites Kurash national federations of Arab countries in Asia and Africa. 

The championship in Lebanon was held in three male weight categories, best players from 10 Arab countries attended the event (Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Djibouti, Syria, Kuwait, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen).

Resultados IV Campeonato Árabe de Kurash
La capital del Líbano, Beirut, ciudad que acogió con éxito la cuarta versión del Campeonato Árabe Superior de Kurash. El campeonato fue organizado y dirigido por la Unión Árabe de Kurash formada por las federaciones nacionales de los países árabes de Asia y África. El campeonato en el Líbano se celebró en tres categorías de peso masculino y los mejores jugadores de 10 países árabes asistieron al evento (Irak, Líbano, Jordania, Palestina, Djibouti, Siria, Kuwait, Egipto, Sudán y Yemen.
