IKA delegation meets the IOC Vice-President
On April 18, 2013 in Singapore the IKA delegation had an official meeting with Mr Ser Miang NG, the IOC Vice-President. 

Mr Ser Miang NG is one of the most influential figures in the International Olympic Committee; he was elected as the IOC member in 1998, from 2005 to 2009 he served as the IOC Executive Board member and since 2009 he occupies the position of the IOC Vice-President. 

He also served for more than ten years as the President of the Singapore Sports Council and was the President of the Organizing Committee of the First Youth Olympic Games held in 2010 in Singapore. 



During the meeting which was held at the Singapore Sports Council building, Mr. Komil Yusupov, the IKA President briefed the IOC Vice-President about the history and modern development of Kurash and the IKA. He also touched upon the relations with the IOC, in particular the exhibition "Finding roots of sport" which was organized at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne in 2005 with the big section dedicated to Kurash, and the institute of Honorary Presidents in the IKA, whereas the IKA's Honorary President is the President of Uzbekistan His Excellency Mr. Islam Karimov and the Honorary Presidents of the Continental Kurash Unions of Asia, Africa, Pan America and Europe are the Presidents of respective Continental Olympic Committees. 



The IOC Vice-President praised the IKA for the efforts to promote Kurash and sport in general. He also complimented the progress of the IKA in worldwide promotion of Kurash achieved in such a short period. 

He expressed his support to further promotion of Kurash in the world. Mr. NG underlined that Kurash would strengthen the position of Asia in the world and Olympic sport movement. 



The IOC Vice-President also said that there was no such a structure in the world sport federations where the four continental Olympic Presidents would occupy the Honorary President positions of the continental unions. He added that this structure should help IKA achieve its main objective - inclusion to the program of Olympics. 



Mr. NG also said he had heard a lot about Kurash, but never saw it in action, and thanks to this meeting organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Singapore he was able to meet the head of such a respecred international sport organization and would be very interested to see live Kurash competition in its motherland Uzbekistan or in another location.

IKA delegation visits Central Africa / Delegacion de la IKA visita Africa Central.
The delegation of the International Kurash Association visited the Central African countries with the aim of inclusion of Kurash to the program of the XI All-African Games. 

From 1 to 5 April 2013 the IKA delegation headed by the IKA President Mr. Komil Yusupov visited the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo, two neighboring countries in the heart of Africa. 

These two states have a special significance in the African continent. The DRC is one of the largest countries in Africa, in terms of territory, amount of mineral resources and the number of population which is over 70 mln. The Republic of Congo is the host country of the XI All-African Games, the main multisport competition in Africa which is held once in every four years and is the continental model of the summer Olympics. 

On April 1-3, the IKA delegation had a number of important meetings in Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC. The first meeting took place with the General Secretary of sport Mr. Barthelemy Okito, who was the founder of the DRC Kurash Federation back in 2006. Today Mr. Okito is one of the main supporters of Kurash promotion in this large country. He gives his full assistance to the activity of the local Kurash national federation, headed by Mr. Yafali Milambo, who is also the founder and the president of the Central African Kurash Zone Federation, uniting the countries located in the center of Africa. 

Una delegación de la Asociación Internacional de Kurash visitó los países de África Central con el objetivo de incluir el Kurash en el programa de los XI Juegos Africanos.
Desde 1 hasta 5 abril 2013 la delegación encabezada por el Presidente de la IKA, Sr. Komil Yusupov, visitó la República Democrática del Congo y la República del Congo, dos países vecinos en el corazón de África.
Estos dos estados tienen un significado especial en el continente africano. La República Democrática del Congo es uno de los países más grandes de África, en términos de territorio, la cantidad de recursos minerales y la cantidad de población que supera los 70 millones. La República del Congo es el país anfitrión de la XI Juegos Africanos, la principal competencia multideportiva en África, que se celebra una vez cada cuatro años y es el modelo continental el los Juegos Olímpicos de verano.
En abril 1-3, la delegación de la IKA realizo una serie de importantes reuniones en Kinshasa, la capital de la República Democrática del Congo. La primera reunión se llevó a cabo con el Secretario General de Deportes Sr. Bartolomé Okito, quien fue el fundador de la Federacion de Kurash en la Republica Democratica del Congo en el 2006. Hoy el señor Okito es uno de los principales impulsores de la promoción Kurash en este gran país. Él da plena asistencia a la actividad de la Federación Nacional de Kurash Local de Kurash que encabeza el Sr. Yafali Milambo, quien también es el fundador y el presidente de la Federacion Zonal de Africa Central de Kurash, unión de los países ubicados en el centro de África.




Then the IKA delegation had negotiations with the Minister of sports, youth and culture of the DRC Mr. Banza Mukalay Nsungu. The sides discussed the support from the government to the national Kurash federation of the DRC, and the proposal of the Congolese side to be a host of the 2014 World Kurash Junior Championships. The minister said that should the DRC be given the right to host world Kurash championships, it would be the first time the DRC would host such a major international event in the last 40 years after the famous professional boxing match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman held in 1974 in Kinshasa. 

Luego la delegación de la IKA ha tenido negociaciones con el Ministro de Deportes, Juventud y Cultura de la República Democrática del Congo Sr. Banza Mukalay Nsungu. Las partes discutieron el apoyo del gobierno a la federación nacional Kurash de la RDC, así como la propuesta de la parte congoleña para ser anfitrión de los Campeonatos del Mundo Junior de Kurash del 2014. El ministro dijo que si la República Democrática del Congo tiene el derecho a organizar los campeonatos mundiales de Kurash, sería la primera vez que la República Democrática del Congo sede de un evento internacional más importante en los últimos 40 años después de la famosa pelea de boxeo profesional entre Muhammad Ali y George Foreman celebrado en 1974 en Kinshasa.



The IKA delegation also had a formal meeting with one of the most powerful and influential ministers in the DRC, Mr. Richard Muyej Mangeze Mans, the Minister of internal affairs, national security and immigration. He also confirmed that the government of the DRC would be very interested to host the World Kurash championships 2014 in Kinshasa. The Minister said that should the championships be granted to the DRC, his ministry would guarantee the security to all foreign participants of the event and significantly ease the visa procedures for them. 

La delegación IKA también tuvo una reunión formal con uno de los ministros más poderosos e influyentes en la República Democrática del Congo, el Sr. Richard Mans Muyej Mangeze, ministro de asuntos internos, la seguridad nacional y la inmigración. También confirmó que el gobierno de la República Democrática del Congo estaría muy interesado en acoger los Campeonatos Mundiales de Kurash en Kinshasa 2014.El Ministro dijo que si el campeonato se concederá a la República Democrática del Congo, su ministerio garantizaría la seguridad a todos los participantes extranjeros del evento y facilitar significativamente los procedimientos de visado para ellos.




The IKA delegation met also the deputy minister of foreign affairs of the DRC Mr. Dismas Magbengu Ndenga. The sides discussed the accreditation by the ministry of the headquarters of the Central African Kurash Zone Federation in Kinshasa. The ministry official assured the IKA delegation that the all necessary documents had been submitted to the ministry and that in the nearest future the accreditation would be granted.
 La delegación de la IKA se reunió también con el viceministro de Relaciones Exteriores de la República Democrática del Congo Sr. Dismas Magbengu Ndenga. Las partes discutieron la acreditación por el ministerio de la sede de la Federacion Zonal Central Africana de Kurash en Kinshasa. El funcionario del ministerio aseguró a la delegación IKA que los documentos necesarios todos se habían presentado al ministerio y que en un futuro próximo la acreditación sería concedido.


The DRC Kurash federation also organized the presentation competition at one of the central Kurash clubs in Kinshasa, there the IKA delegation had a chance to meet hundreds of young Kurash players aged from 5 to 15, and present them with Kurash official uniform Yaktak, promotional material and videos about Kurash. 

La Federacion de Kurash de la Republica Democratica del Congo Kurash organizó una exhibicion con la presentacion en uno de los clubes de Kurash en el centro de Kinshasa, allí la delegación IKA ha tenido la oportunidad de conocer a cientos de jugadores de Kurash jóvenes en edades comprendidas entre 5 a 15, y presentarlos con el uniforme oficial de Kurash, Yaktak, material promocional y videos sobre Kurash.






Several press conferences and briefings took place throughout the visit of the IKA delegation, the visit was widely covered by DRC’s press and television media. 

Varias conferencias de prensa y sesiones de información se llevaron a cabo durante la visita de la delegación de al IKA, la visita fue ampliamente cubierta por la prensa de la República Democrática del Congo y la televisión.


On April 4-5 the IKA delegation visited the neighboring Republic of Congo, its capital Brazzaville. There the delegation had official meetings with the Minister of sports and physical education Mr. Leon Alfred Opimbai and the Director General of sports Mr. Emile Bakale. The IKA delegation raised the question of inclusion of Kurash to the official competition program of the All-African Games, which would be held in 2015 in Brazzaville, and the support from the government to the local Kurash national association. The Republic of Congo Kurash Association despite being a relatively young organization has already successfully organized several important Kurash events, including the African continental Kurash senior and junior championships in 2012. 

En abril 4-5 la delegación de la IKA visitó la vecina República del Congo, Brazzaville su capital. Allí, la delegación mantuvo reuniones oficiales con el Ministro de Deportes y Educación Física Sr. Leon Alfred Opimbai y el director general de deportes Sr. Emile Bakale. La delegación de la IKA planteó la cuestión de la inclusión del Kurash al programa de la competición oficial de los Juegos Africanos, que se celebrarán en 2015 en Brazzaville, y el apoyo del gobierno a la asociación nacional de Kurash. La Asociacion de Kurash de la República del Congo Kurash a pesar de ser una organización relativamente joven ya ha organizado con éxito varios eventos importantes de Kurash, entre ellos el Campeonato de Mayores y Junior de Kurash en 2012.




The ministry officials assured the IKA delegation that all would be done in order to include Kurash to the program of the Games and support would be given to the local Kurash association. 

Los funcionarios del ministerio asegurarón a la delegación de la IKA que todo se hace con el fin de incluir Kurash en el programa de los Juegos y que se prestara apoyo a la asociación local de Kurash.
