First National Kurash Seminar in Italy / Primer Seminario Nacional de Kurash en Italia

Italy successfully hosted the First historical national Kurash seminar in the city of Caserta. The event was organized by the FIKU (Italian Kurash Federation), the Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Caserta, with the help from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy, International Kurash Association and the National Federation of Uzbekistan.
A group of high qualified Uzbek coaches, referees and players had a joint training and coaching with Italian counterparts who gathered from around Italy during the week, which was also accompanied by various cultural events aimed at promoting Uzbek national culture, art, cuisine and folk in Italy.
The events were well attended and appreciated by the big number of Italian citizens, including dignitaries from the mayor and provincial offices, sports authorities and press.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan in France and Italy Mr. Ravshan Usmanov and the IKA delegation headed by the IKA Acting Vice-President Mr. Ramazan Pulatov also attended the events of the week.
The FIKU – the Italian Kurash Federation, was founded in December 2014 in Caserta, by the group of Kurash supporters headed by the Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Caserta Vittorio Giorgi.
This seminar is the first large event organized by the FIKU, which plans to hold the first national Kurash championships in late 2015, and in 2016 – an international tournament.
