Meeting in Iran / Reunion en Iran

The IKA President Mr. Haider A. Farman visited the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran Tehran city.
There he had an official meeting with the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Iran Mr. Shahrokh Shahnazi and the two time world champion and the Vice President of the Iran National Judo and Kurash Federation Mr. Arash Miresmaili. The IKA Refereeing director Mr. Reza Nassiri was also present at the meeting.
During the meeting the IKA President Mr. Farman praised the level of development of Kurash in Iran, which was again emphasized by the first place of the Iranian national Kurash team in the overall medal standing at the Asian Senior Kurash championships held in April 2015 in Beirut, Lebanon.
The Iranian side stressed that the activity of the Kurash national federation is fully supported by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the National Olympic Committee.
The federation vice president Mr. Miresmaili officially requested to grant Iran with the right of hosting of the upcoming World senior championships in case of vacancy, the bid was fully backed by the IRI NOC General Secretary Mr. Shahnazi.
The IKA President Mr. Farman praised the activity of the Iranian representative Mr. Nassiri in the capacity of the Technical delegate at the 2014 Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand, where Beach Kurash competitions were a huge success.
He also promised to carefully study the proposal of the Iranian federation regarding the hosting of the World Kurash championships and update them of the result.
