Sport for Development and Peace 2020

to be celebrated digitally

Lausanne 6 April 2020 marks the seventh edition of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) that will take place worldwide – and will be celebrated digital-only due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the biggest initiatives for IDSDP, is Peace and Sport’s annual #WhiteCard digital campaign. It encourages people to take photos while holding a white card in symbolization of their commitment for peace through sport, and to share them online using the hashtag ‘#WhiteCard’. This year the campaign will be launched by the end of March and will focus on the theme “Behind each #WhiteCard, there is a story”. It will highlight the stories of individuals who have been positively impacted by sport.

“This year, we encourage everyone to mobilize digitally by using one’s creativity,” announced Joël Bouzou, President and Founder of Peace and Sport. The most important thing is to celebrate this international day and to recall the positive role of sport for development and peace.”

WHITE CARD

The #WhiteCard is a worldwide digital campaign created by Peace and Sport that promotes the positive and constructive values of sport. Every year the #WhiteCard campaign reaches millions of people through social media. serious offense in sport, the #WhiteCard is a gesture of inclusion, equality and peace. Symbolically, the #WhiteCard enables sport organizations, international institutions, governments, athletes and civil society to take action and promote themselves within the sport-for-development-and-peace movement and identify themselves as being socially aware and committed.

Fedokurash en el VII Día Internacional del Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz 2020 se celebrará digitalmente

Lausana el 6 de abril de 2020 marca la séptima edición del Día Internacional del Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz (IDSDP) que tendrá lugar en todo el mundo y se celebrará solo en formato digital debido a la pandemia COVID-19.

Una de las iniciativas más importantes para IDSDP es la campaña digital anual #WhiteCard de Peace and Sport. Alienta a las personas a tomar fotos mientras sostienen una tarjeta blanca como símbolo de su compromiso por la paz a través del deporte, y a compartirlas en línea usando el hashtag "#WhiteCard". Este año, la campaña se lanzará a fines de marzo y se centrará en el

tema "Detrás de cada #WhiteCard, hay una historia". Destacará las historias de personas que han sido impactadas positivamente por el deporte.

Sostener una #WhiteCard, al igual que un árbitro, ha sido reconocido como el símbolo del movimiento de paz a través del deporte.
