 DIA NACIONAL DEL KURASH EN LA REPUBLICA DOMINICANA

Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.- Este 23 de febrero celebramos el Dia Nacional del Kurash en la Republica Dominicana con diferentes actividades en todo el territorio nacional a cargo de las asociaciones afiliadas a la Federación Dominicana de Kurash (Fedokurash) siendo ellas Azua, Peravia, San Cristóbal, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, Provincia Santo Domingo, Hermanas Mirabal, San José de Ocoa y la Provincia Duarte, entre otras.

Dentro de las actividades están las charlas sobre la historia de esta disciplina marcial que data de hace mas de 3500 años oriunda de la Republica de Uzbekistán, exposiciones de documentos relativos al deporte, torneos intramuros, clínicas de arbitraje, convivencia con sus atleta y familiares como las mas principales.

En ese sentido el Comité Ejecutivo de la Fedokurash realizo una caminata frente al Ministerio de Deportes en el Centro Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte en el Distrito Nacional que conto con atletas, árbitros, entrenadores, directivos y amantes de este arte marcial que ya se expande en los cinco continentes y en mas de 130 paises desde la fundación de la International Kurash Association (IKA) el 6 de septiembre 1998.

La Fedokurash tuvo un año 2023 excepcional al lograr una Campeona Mundial de la mano de Audrey Puello en el evento realizado en Ashgabat, Turkmenistan luego de haber obtenido la medalla de plata en el World Series Pro (WSP) acompañada del también dominicano Tomas Belen con la presea de bronce.

doctor Alquimedes Ortiz Cruz y el ingeniero Jaime Casanova Martínez quienes son vicepresidente y secretario, respectivamente, hicieron acto de presencia en la caminata a la vez que les exhorto a seguir fortaleciendo la disciplina nacional en base al fomento con la captación a la practica de niños y jóvenes de ambos sexos.
Los atletas de esta disciplina se preparan para competir en los Campeonatos Nacionales de Kurash por Equipos Mixtos el próximo 17 de marzo 2024 evento que servirá como puntuable para los eventos internacionales venideros.

NATIONAL KURASH DAY IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- This February 23 we celebrate National Kurash Day in the Dominican Republic with different activities throughout the national territory by the associations affiliated with the Dominican Kurash Federation (Fedokurash) being Azua, Peravia, San Cristóbal, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo Province, Hermanas Mirabal, San José de Ocoa and the Duarte Province, among others.

Among the activities are talks on the history of this martial discipline that dates back more than 3,500 years, native to the Republic of Uzbekistan, exhibitions of documents related to the sport, intramural tournaments, arbitration clinics, coexistence with their athletes and family members such as the most main ones.

In that sense, the Fedokurash Executive Committee held a walk in front of the Ministry of Sports at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in the National District that included athletes, referees, coaches, managers and lovers of this martial art that is already expanding in the five continents and in more than 130 countries since the founding of the International Kurash Association (IKA) on September 6, 1998.

Fedokurash had an exceptional year in 2023 by achieving a World Champion with the help of Audrey Puello in the event held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan after having obtained the silver medal in the World Series Pro (WSP) accompanied by also Dominican Tomas Belen with the bronze medal.

The president of Fedokurash, Dr. Israel Agustín Caraballo Jiménez, accompanied by Dr. Alquimedes Ortiz Cruz and engineer Jaime Casanova Martínez, who are vice president and secretary, respectively, appeared at the walk while urging them to continue strengthening the discipline national based on the promotion with the recruitment of children and young people of both sexes to the practice.

The athletes of this discipline are preparing to compete in the National Kurash Mixed Team Championships on March 17, 2024, an event that will serve as a scoring event for upcoming international events.
