Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.- El Ministro de Deportes y Recreación, Miderec, el ingeniero Kelvin Cruz Cáceres, recibió en su despacho a los representantes de la Federación Dominicana de Kurash, Fedokurash, el doctor Israel Agustín Caraballo Jiménez y el también ingeniero Jaime Casanova Martínez, quienes son presidente y secretario, respectivamente, del organismo federado.

Los participantes en el encuentro pasaron revista a las actividades realizadas por la Fedokurash y de igual manera a los próximos eventos calendario tanto nacionales como internacionales para el continuo desarrollo de la ancestral disciplina de más de 3500 años oriunda de la Republica de Uzbekistán y que se practica en el país desde el año 1998 con la realización en la geografía nacional de un Campeonato Mundial Juvenil en el año 2006 y varias competiciones panamericanas.

De igual manera la disciplina de Kurash ha estado en los Juegos Nacionales Monte Plata 2006 y Hermanas Mirabal 2018, así mismo, en los Juegos Nacionales Escolares Monte Plata 2019, entre otros importantes certámenes nacionales

compartir con los dirigentes del Clásico Mundial de Beisbol a realizarse en el próximo año 2026, ex grandes ligas y gerente general Nelson Cruz y el doctor Juan Núñez Nepomuceno, presidente de la Federación Dominicana de Beisbol (Fedobe).

"Fue una buena reunión con el Ministro de Deportes donde pasamos revista a las actividades del kurash a la vez que vendrán futuras reuniones de acuerdo al calendario y requerimientos de nuestra federación", así se expresó el doctor Carballo Jiménez al finalizar el encuentro.

Fedokurash Holds Meeting with Minister of Sports Kelvin Cruz

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The Minister of Sports and Recreation (Miderec), Engineer Kelvin Cruz Cáceres, received representatives of the Dominican Kurash Federation (Fedokurash) in his office: Dr. Israel Agustín Caraballo Jiménez and Engineer Jaime Casanova Martínez, who serve as president and secretary, respectively, of the federation.

The participants reviewed Fedokurash's activities and discussed upcoming national and international events for the continued development of this ancient discipline, which dates back more than 3,500 years and originated in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Kurash has been practiced in the Dominican Republic since 1998, with the country hosting a Junior World Championship in 2006 and several Panamerican competitions.

Similarly, the Kurash discipline has been featured in the Monte Plata 2006 and Hermanas Mirabal 2018 National Games, as well as the Monte Plata 2019 National School Games, among other important national competitions.

At the end of the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to meet with the directors of the World Baseball Classic to be held in 2026, former Major League Baseball player and general manager Nelson Cruz, and Dr. Juan Núñez Nepomuceno, president of the Dominican Baseball Federation (Fedobe).

"It was a good meeting with the Minister of Sports where we reviewed Kurash activities, and future meetings will be scheduled according to the calendar and requirements of our federation," said Dr. Carballo Jiménez at the end of the meeting.
